BIMStorm BIG BIM BANG - Prep
Webinars are provided to guide teams on the project requirements and to
support interaction on the projects.
Several thousand people
regardless of technical expertise have participated in BIMStorms and
created 4,000 buildings totaling 485 million square feet.
Live demonstration of BIM
featuring Kimon Onuma, FAIA, Principal, Onuma, Inc.
Live from the show floor
with the BIMStorm teams.
Some of the tools used in a
BIMStorm include: Archicad, Excel, Elite Cad, ESRI, Google Earth,
Google Maps, Google SketchUp, Onuma Planning System, Revit, Solibri,
Trelligence Affinity, VectorWorks, Paper and Pencil and other tools
Are you one of the 112
Community Colleges in California?
BIMStorm BIG BIM BANG at
Ecobuild is accepting project requests from any one of the 112
California Community Colleges.
Are you a Healthcare
Organization?
We invite you to submit a
project to the BIMStorm.
Submit program requirements,
existing project data or new building or planning requests. We will
review submissions for the three day BIG BANG. Your project can be as
simple as knowing that you want to build a new math and science
building on a campus or it could be a full program requirement document
with detailed information for a project.
Selected projects will be
included in the BIMStorm and opened up for teams to demonstrate
innovative solutions using BIM and GIS tools.
BIMStorm™ Theater at the Conference
On the show floor
Live projects will run for
the duration of the show
BIM and Cloud Computing Returns to Washington DC at Ecobuild America
The award-winning BIMStorm is roaring back to Ecobuild America®
with the eye of the BIMStorm targeting Educational and Health Care
Facilities, BIM / GIS integration and Cloud Computing.
What do leading BIM and GIS
solutions coupled with Cloud Computing enable? BIMStorm will
demonstrate full life-cycle use of BIM including green product
integration along with real rime energy data connected to BIM. Its
interactive format invites teams of attendees to participate via smart
phone or laptop in a live workshop charrette on the 3D design of
hospitals and federal facilities design in real time. Demonstrations
will include how BIM can support High Performance Buildings.
Do you have a solution you want
to showcase? Become a sponsor of the BIMStorm Theater on the Ecobuild
America exhibit floor and help us demonstrate what is possible using
open standards.
Two Owner Groups
Each year there is a theme, this year the focus is on healthcare and
education.
We are please to announce two
large facility owners that are participating this year by submitting
their projects into the BIMStorm. Please sign up and join the webinars
below to get further information about these projects.
Kaiser Permanente is one of the largest healthcare organizations in the
world with 8.7 million members, 167,300 employees, 14,600 physicians,
35 medical centers and 431 medical offices.
Kaiser Permanente will be
submitting two projects into the BIMStorm:
Project #1
BIM to the Life Cycle
A medical office
building that is currently under construction.
Creating target
performance goals for energy use and sustainability
Tracking performance,
live sensors connected to BIM
Teams will be provided
with BIM from the project that can be used for analysis.
Project #2 is for a new
healthcare facility.
Teams will be provided
program requirements in BIM format
Teams will be provided
with program requirements and site to design the project using BIM.
Tracking client
requirements on the project and validating the results in various
stages of the project will be part of this project.
The California Community College System (CCC) serves 2.75 million
students at 112 California locations and is the largest system of
public higher education in the world. The CCC FUSION System (Facilities
Utilization, Space Inventory Options Net) with the entire California
inventory of 71 million square feet of buildings and spaces, along with
the CCC Geographic Information System (GIS) Collaborative of campuses
and buildings is now available in BIM at varying levels of detail. They
will be submitting two projects into the BIMStorm:
Miracosta Community College
in Oceanside, CA will be submitting several projects to the BIMStorm.
Project #3 is centered
around a draft
master plan for the college and
will be the basis for further planning.
Projects #4,5 &
6 are for three new building programs on Miracosta
Project # 7 is from Los
Angeles Community College, (LACCD) Mission College Campus.
LACCD is getting ready
to release new requirements for BIM deliverables to support facility
management and operational needs of the district.
The LACCD BIM for FM
specification is based on COBie.
The project at Mission
College is going to be the first one that will be using this
specification.
The project is
currently under construction and has BIM in Revit and other formats.
Teams will be able to
use the data from this project as part of the work in the BIMStorm.
