Master Planning has been at the core of ONUMA, Inc. since
1972. As an architectural and planning firm the projects have included:
- Residential Planning
- Hotel and Resort Planning
- U.S. Government Facility Planning
- Medical Planning
Navy Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan
In 1993 we started to use Building Information Modeling (BIM)
to master plan large communities. Included were a series of U.S.
Government facilities. At the time BIM was not well known and not a
requirement of the projects. We found that by using BIM we were able to
gain exponential levels of efficiency and accuracy in the deliverable.
This process also was proof to us that a revolutionary way to approach
projects was possible.
Master planning involves the communication of complex ideas and
exploring alternatives and coming to conclusions. The process is a give
and take and there is a great need to be able to process vast amounts
of raw data to gain a knowledge and understanding in order to create
solutions based on wisdom. The process is a combination of expertise,
information and the ability to assemble dynamically changing project
information.
